I can however use the Power Button to shut down this system. tested PSU (620W) + GPU (R9 390) - GPU lights up, but the system does not boot - the other system MB is a ASUS motherboard P8H67-M PRO, this only has the DRAM_LED. tested ram sticks (2x8GB 1600 MHz) - they work I've also tested the components of this system on my other system: tried no GPU at all - solid red CPU_LED light tried no ram sticks at all - solid red CPU_LED light tried re-seating everything onto the motherboard, CPU, GPU, RAM sticks, front panel headers, ATX power cords - solid red CPU_LED light different PSU (500W) - solid red CPU_LED light tried a different GPU (HD 5450), one that only require power from the slot - solid red CPU_LED light tried other ram sticks one at a time (1x4GB 1333MHz, then 1x2GB 1333MHZ), from my other system - solid red CPU_LED light tried only 1 ram stick (1x8GB 1600MHz), either in the red slot or the black slot - solid red CPU_LED light Here's what I've tried next to see if i could get it to boot / find what the issue was: It's a solid red CPU_LED.įor the rest of the system, GPU (R9 390) has some leds so I know it was powered, HDD was powered, I heard its noise, case fans were powered, CPU fans were powered, all USBs were powered. Ultimately, it would only light up CPU_LED and didn't move from there. Sometimes the sequence would only get to DRAM_LED, then restart again at CPU_LED. It was doing a sequence lighting but apparently it would end up restarting again, back to CPU_LED. I noticed a strange sequence: CPU_LED > DRAM_LED > VGA_LED. I went to look inside to find out what these leds, CPU_LED, DRAM_LED, VGA_LED and BOOT_DEVICE_LED, would tell me. I went to BIOS, and after about 20 seconds if that, the screen also turned black, same symptom as previously.

Next time I booted the system was also the last time it was ever able to boot. The next morning, 27-08-2016, system boot up to windows, and about 2~3 minutes later, the same issue happens (screen turned black, no response from power button) I turned the system on again for the 3rd time and for the rest of this night, I didn't have any more issues. I switched it on and started the system again, and everything appeared to be fine, but then, about 20 minutes later, the same thing happened, screen turned black, and couldn't shut down via Power button, only via PSU. I was only able to shut down using the Power switch on the PSU. I tried shutting down with the Power button and strangely enough, It didn't shut off, also tried the reset button and nothing. My rig is about 4 years old, and has been working with no issues, but on last friday night, 26-08-2016, while I was on windows, the screen turned black, no response from Ctrl-Alt-Del.
